Book Private Music Lessons with Me!

Voice, Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, and Songwriting

My Story

Hi! My name is Madison Ware. I am a 22 years old, have just graduated from Utah State University as a board-certified Music Therapist, a singer-songwriter, and a music teacher for voice, guitar, piano, ukulele, and songwriting!

I grew up in West Jordan, Utah. To say I am passionate about music is an understatement. Whether it was putting on self-written musicals for my family during reunions or writing silly songs at the piano, I was always playing music and singing from a young age. My mom supported my passion and enrolled me in piano lessons at the age of 8. Like many moms, she understood the cognitive benefits of placing her children in musical lessons. My training in the Piano Adventures and Hanon scales books not only helped my school performance, but also my self-confidence. In fact, I loved the piano so much that I continued to take lessons for ten years in the Alfred books up until my junior year of college.

While I love playing piano, voice is my main passion. At the age of 11, my mom enrolled me in voice lessons with a teacher who graduated from the University of Utah in vocal pedagogy and classical performance. With her, I learned critical technique, performance skills, and proper vocal care through a variety of classical and musical theater repertoire. My self-esteem and confidence only expanded under her instruction.

At the age of 15, I transferred to another teacher in the Draper area with a background in stage performance with a band. For 3 years, she helped me explore my unique artistry as a musician and songwriter through a variety of workshops and unique performing opportunities. I also began guitar lessons during my time at her studio, which prepared me for the guitar lessons I have taken in college.

In the fall of 2020, I auditioned and was accepted into the Music Therapy program at Utah State University. I can think of nothing better to study. As a practice, Music Therapy is a clinical field dedicated to helping people self-actualize and heal through the psychological benefits of music. I want to give back the confidence and happiness that music gives me.

Within my Music Therapy program’s rigorous curriculum, my piano, guitar, and vocal skills have only been strengthened through a myriad of music lessons and core music theory classes.

When I am not writing my own music or holding Music Therapy sessions,  I am either teaching music lessons to a variety of ages or gigging at a live performance!

My Experience as a Teacher

For the past two years, I have had the wonderful opportunities to teach ukulele, guitar, piano, and voice to students ranging from 5 to 40 years of age with Logan Music Academy, teach lessons with my own studio, live in Nashville as my own artist, and complete my music therapy internship supporting children and families at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis! (It's been a busy past couple years, haha)

In the summer of 2023, I served a humanitarian trip in Costa Rica where I taught elementary students English, often using music to accomplish lessons. I am passionate about teaching music, especially to children and young adults.

Coming back to the U.S., I want to continue to freelance my knowledge to those who are passionate about learning music within the comfort of their own homes at an affordable price! Please feel free to reach out to me via email to talk about my rates! I want to help you succeed in realizing your musical dreams.

My Experience as a Music Therapist

I am extremely passionate about music, especially its psychological benefits.

"Music Therapy is the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program."

( from the AMTA website)

In my training, I have learned and practiced how music can benefit the development of children and adolescents. This knowledge was only deepened during my 6-month internship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!

I am currently working as a contracting music therapist around Utah Valley with child, adolescent, and adult populations/facilities.... and I LOVE IT!

I am very grateful for my career and the incredible honor I have to be a board-certified music therapist.
