Hi! My name is Madison Ware. I am a 21 year-old student at Utah State University. I am a senior this year in USU’s Music Therapy program and a music teacher for voice, guitar, piano, and ukulele!
I grew up in West Jordan, Utah. To say I am passionate about music is an understatement. Whether it was putting on self-written musicals for my family during reunions or writing silly songs at the piano, I was always playing music and singing from a young age. My mom supported my passion and enrolled me in piano lessons at the age of 8. Like many moms, she understood the cognitive benefits of placing her children in musical lessons. My training focused in the Piano Adventures and Hanon scales books not only helped my school performance, but also my self-confidence. In fact, I loved the piano so much that I continued to take lessons for ten years in the Alfred books up until my junior year of college.
While I love playing piano, voice is my main passion. At the age of 11, my mom enrolled me in voice lessons with a teacher who graduated from the University of Utah in vocal pedagogy and classical performance. With her, I learned critical technique, performance skills, and proper vocal care through a variety of classical and musical theater repertoire. My self-esteem and confidence only expanded under her instruction.
At the age of 15, I transferred to another teacher in the Draper area with a background in stage performance with a band. For 3 years, she helped me explore my unique artistry as a musician and songwriter through a variety of workshops and unique performing opportunities. I also began guitar lessons during my time at her studio, which prepared me for the guitar lessons I have taken in college.
In the fall of 2020, I auditioned and was accepted into the Music Therapy program at Utah State University. I can think of nothing better to study. As a practice, Music Therapy is a clinical field dedicated to helping people self-actualize and heal through the psychological benefits of music. I want to give back the confidence and happiness that music gives me.
Within the program’s rigorous curriculum, my piano, guitar, and vocal skills have only been strengthened through a myriad of music lessons and core music theory classes.
When I am not studying or learning in Music Therapy practicum sites, I am either teaching music lessons to a variety of ages or gigging as a lead singer in the band, Three Day Weekend!

For the past year and a half, I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach ukulele, guitar, piano, and voice to students ranging from 5 to 40 years of age with Logan Music Academy. This past summer, I left to serve a humanitarian trip in Costa Rica where I taught elementary students English. I am passionate about teaching music, especially to children and young adults.
Coming back to Logan, I want to continue to freelance my knowledge to those who are passionate about learning music within the comfort of their own homes at an affordable price!
